Leaders of 成人头条 and Butler Community College have signed an agreement that adds two majors to a list of degrees that students can start with two years of study at Butler and complete at WSU 鈥� aerospace engineering and applied computing.
Known as 2+2 agreements, the arrangement allows Butler students earning an associate of science degree in pre-engineering with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 to be guaranteed admission to WSU upon completion of the appropriate application requirements.
Butler pre-engineering graduates will enter WSU with junior status, as they transfer 64 credit hours from Butler to WSU. Students would then need to complete another 62-64 hours of coursework to receive a bachelor鈥檚 degree from 成人头条 State College of Engineering.
鈥淭his partnership is a real win for students who choose to earn their associate鈥檚 degree at a local community college, but want to continue their education in the engineering and computing fields,鈥� said Dr. Steven Skinner, College of Engineering associate dean for undergraduate studies, finance and administration. 鈥淭his agreement assures there is no time or effort lost for those students.鈥�
Existing agreements already allow for students to begin at Butler and finish at 成人头条 State to complete biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, industrial systems and manufacturing engineering, and mechanical engineering degrees.
The aerospace engineering bachelor鈥檚 degree program at 成人头条 specializes in the study of both aircraft and spacecraft. Students take courses in aerodynamics, propulsion, stability, control and structures, using laboratory facilities that are among the finest found in academic institutions nationwide.
The applied computing bachelor鈥檚 degree program focuses on how to apply computer technology skills and a broad understanding of these skills in the real world. Focusing on experiential and applied learning, students prepare for careers in computer analytics, cybersecurity, data analysis, game development and social media applications.
