Francis D鈥橲ouza, professor, chemistry, has been named to the 2010 class of Electrochemical Society Fellows for contributions to electrochemistry and outstanding service to ECS. His research is in the field of supramolecular and electron transfer chemistry of porphyrins, fullerenes and carbon nanotubes, and is particularly recognized for supramolecular systems for solar energy harvesting applications.
Jeremy Hill
Vis Madhavan, professor, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, and former WSU doctoral student Ala Hijazi have developed and patented 鈥淪ystem and Method For Capturing Image Sequences at Ultra-High Framing Rates.鈥� The high speed camera was officially patented by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Aug. 17.
Susan Parsons, assistant professor, nursing, has been selected to join the Healthy Aging Medical/Dental Integration Advisory Council. This is a statewide council established by Oral Health Kansas to focus on Healthy Aging related to the interaction between medicine and dentistry.

Raymond Fox, 70, retired chair, biological sciences, died at home on Sept. 26 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Whiston-Fox; children, Kimberly Fox (Robert Fink) of Los Angeles, Douglas Fox of Berkeley, Calif., and Nicole Vancuren (Chad Vancuren); granddaughter, Britton Lee Vancuren. Diane E. Huntley, 63, associate professor, dental hygiene, died Sept. 8. She was preceded in death by her father, Cmdr. George W. Huntley. Survivors include her mother, Esther Huntley of Meriden, Conn.; sister, Bette (Robert) DeMayo of North Haven, Conn.; nieces, Kristen DeMayo and Robin Pollack; nephew, Gary DeMayo; three great-nieces and four great-nephews. Janice Marie Nevills, 70, retired, mechanical engineering, died Oct. 6 after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruby Witte; brother, Norman Dale Witte; and husband, Thomas Alan Nevills. Survivors include her children, Kyle and Melanie Nevills of Garden City, Kan., Chad Nevills of Conifer, Colo., and Beth and Jeff Fabrick of Maricopa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Parker and Hayden of Garden City, Kan., and Lauren and Peter of Maricopa, Ariz. Gloria J. Bailey Tuttle, 83, member, WSU Women鈥檚 Association Dames, supporter, School of Social Work, died Oct. 8. She was preceded in death by husband, Edward Tuttle, who initiated the WSU Bachelor of Social Work program and was its first director. Survivors include sons, Steve (Sharon) Bailey of 成人头条, and Chris (Carol) Bailey of Foothill Ranch, Calif.; brother, Jack (Judith) Lembke of 成人头条; grandchildren, Samuel (Amber) Bailey of Scottsdale, Ariz., James (Alicia) Bailey of Andover, Courtney and Christopher Bailey of Foothill Ranch, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Audrey, Noah and Ethan Bailey.
