Tim Pett, formerly the director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at 成人头条, has resigned from the university effective Aug. 31. He was named director of the center on July 3, 2005.
Pett was placed on administrative leave earlier this year on April 23.
Lou Heldman, an experienced business and campus leader, has been acting director of the 成人头条 Center for Entrepreneurship since June 2, and will continue serving in that role.
During his time at 成人头条 State, Pett taught a management strategy course that brought together students from the Barton School of Business and the Berlin School of Economics to help entrepreneurial firms in 成人头条 and Berlin.
He obtained grants from the Coleman Foundation for WSU faculty fellows from various disciplines outside business, including engineering, fine arts, health professions and psychology to imbed entrepreneurship in their courses.
Pett worked with rural areas in Kansas to provide entrepreneurial training.
He also founded the Shocker Business Plan competition, a signature statewide event for the Center for Entrepreneurship. And he oversaw growth in the Kansas Family Business Forum.
During his tenure, the Center for Entrepreneurship hosted the annual Entrepreneurship Forum series, which included speakers such as David Green, CEO and founder of Hobby Lobby; Jimmy John Liautaud, founder and CEO of Jimmy John鈥檚 Gourmet Sandwich Shops; and Jack DeBoer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and author; among others.
