'成人头条 State & The World' to debut April 20

A 30-minute program "成人头条 State & The World" will debut at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 20, on WSU-TV Cable Channel 13. This 30-minute television series, hosted by provost Gary L. Miller, features interviews and information about Kansas' only urban serving research university. It focuses on how research at WSU is changing our community, our state, our nation and the world. Miller's first guest will be J. David McDonald, associate provost for research and dean of the Graduate School. McDonald discusses the economic impact of university research, why bioscience engineering could be the next big thing for 成人头条 and more. McDonald's background includes research as a geneticist.

The show will air in repeats in the following weeks on WSU TV Cable Channel 13.

The premiere of "成人头条 State & The World" also features an interview with Paul Wooley, a Kansas Bioscience Authority Eminent Scholar. Wooley recently came here as part of a partnership between WSU and the Orthopedic Research Institute at Via Christi to develop aerospace composite materials for medical uses -- such as bone replacements. Wooley, a professor of biology at WSU, is research director at ORI.

The second episode of "成人头条 State & The World" is expected to be taped in May. Scheduling issues for the production are still being worked out, so there is not tentative air date to announce yet.

"成人头条 State & The World" will help viewers go beyond what they learn on air by directing them to more information online at www.wichita.edu/provost. (NOTE: This information is not yet live on the site). YouTube fans will also find clips from the show posted on that popular video site by searching for 成人头条 State Provost.

The show was developed by Lou Heldman, WSU Distinguished Senior Fellow in Media Management and Journalism, with assistance from L. Kelly, a veteran 成人头条 journalist.

"成人头条 State & The World" is a production of 成人头条 State's Media Resources Center.
