Faculty and staff are invited to listen to an online interview from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Media Resources Center ITV classroom. The interview will feature Maryellen Weimar, editor of "The Teaching Professor" newsletter, and Michael Newman, award-winning author of the book "Teaching Defiance: Stories and Strategies for Activist Educators." Newman will explain his view that students are not being taught critical thinking or problem-solving skills, and he'll discuss his thoughts on how these skills can be more effectively taught. The event is sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Research Excellence.
