WSU-LINK to host reception
As part of WSU-LINK's efforts to encourage community engagement at WSU, a group of environmental organizations and faculty with similar research interests began meeting last fall. They unanimously agreed that there is a general lack of education regarding environmental issues in 成人头条. In other words, most folks in 成人头条 aren't really concerned with environmental issues simply because they don't know about them.
A partnership between local environmental organizations, KSCW, the Elliott School of Communication and WSU-LINK created a media campaign designed to increase awareness and understanding of environmental issues and the local organizations dedicated to these issues.
This semester four ESC classes (Les Anderson, feature writing; Kevin Hager, video storytelling; Jim Meyer, introduction to photojournalism; and Lisa Parcell, writing for mass audiences) worked together to create news stories, feature stories, advertisements, press releases, photographs, informational videos, promotional videos and other materials for these environmental organizations.
KSCW is now posting this material under their "Free to Be Green" portion of their Web site and promoting it during their morning news broadcasts. In addition, students from this partnership have shot a public service announcement that will run at the Warren Theatres, designed numerous fliers and brochures used by the environmental organizations, had stories published in The 成人头条 Eagle, and continue to find new avenues to publish their work.
Since KSCW needed this work in-hand the beginning of April, these students have really worked hard to finish what would normally be their "final project," a month ahead of time.
It has been a valuable partnership for all involved.
