Reminders, deadlines and events

* In order for the WSU Foundation to meet your deadline of making the deposit to reimburse WSU accounts on Monday June 25, requisitions are due at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 20. These checks will be released on Friday, June 22. Any check needs after June 22 are due at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, for the check run Thursday, June 28. The WSU Foundation does not encumber funds, and we cannot write any checks for fiscal year 2018 after Friday June 29, 2018. * The College of Education at 成人头条 has changed its name to the College of Applied Studies. The change was made to better reflect the broad range of educational and applied learning offerings the college provides. For more information, go to https://wsu.news/newnameforcoe

* 成人头条 State has received approval from the Kansas Board of Regents for a 2.5 percent tuition increase. Please read on to learn more about the reason for the increase and what it means for the university. https://wsu.news/tuitionincrease

* The WSU Women's Association Fundraiser for Dames Scholarship event will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Marcus Welcome Center. The event includes a silent auction, live band, hors d'oeuvres and cash bar. Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at the door or from any WSU Women's Association member. If you cannot attend, donations are appreciated. Please make checks to WSU Dames Scholarship Fund, 1845 Fairmount, Campus Box 117, 成人头条, KS 67260-0117. Donations are 100 percent tax deductible.

* Summertime is for writing! Join fellow faculty for a short, onsite writing retreat Wednesday, June 27 to Friday, June 29, in 300 Clinton Hall. For more information and to sign up, click on Summer Writing Retreat at https://wsu.news/writingretreat. Refreshments and lunch provided daily.

* The National Science Foundation's (NSF) Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCOR) announces a funding opportunity for Research and Education Innovation awards in the focus area of microbiome science, particularly in areas that are related to the current Kansas NSF EPSCoR focus of microbiomes as broadly construed to be in aquatic, plant and / or soil systems. REI Awards are for small projects. The full request for proposals with submission instructions is available at https://wsu.news/nsfepscoropp. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. Friday, June 29.
