鈥淭his is an exciting development for WSU because it provides an added layer of connectivity for our prospective students, current Shockers, faculty, staff and alumni,鈥 said Bobby Gandu, director of undergraduate admissions. 鈥淔rom the perspective of undergraduate admissions, it is mission critical that we continue to reach students on the communication platforms they use. The interests and preferences of our prospective students are so incredibly varied. The WSU iPhone app gives us another medium to reach those students and promote the 成人头条 State message.鈥

Users of the WSU iPhone app will find the following information: WSU news; athletics news and schedules; videos; campus pictures; Twitter feeds from Gandu, WuShock, 成人头条 State and athletics; local weather; a campus map; fan polls; reference material (driving directions, parking map, housing handbook, student code of conduct, faculty handbook and a link to student services website); and the WSU fight song.

Additional applications that will be added in the future are the campus directory and schedule of courses.

While the current application is only available for iPhone users, the hope is that it will be rolled out to other mobile platforms in the future.

The Office of Admissions was the driving force behind the iPhone app, and staff from University Computing and Telecommunication Services and University Relations helped provide and review content.
