Samuel Ramey to appear with WSU Symphony Orchestra

成人头条鈥檚 Symphony Orchestra will host 鈥淎n Evening with Samuel Ramey,鈥 featuring the international opera star and WSU alumnus, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Miller Concert Hall, Duerksen Fine Arts Center.

Proceeds from this special event will go toward the 成人头条 State Orchestra Touring Fund. General admission is $7 (discounts available), and free for WSU students at the box office with ID.

The performance will feature four arias from Ramey鈥檚 most famous role: Mephistopheles in Goethe's 鈥淔aust.鈥 The critically acclaimed bass will sing selections from Boito's 鈥淢efistofele,鈥 Berlioz鈥 鈥淭he Damnation of Faust,鈥 Gounod's 鈥淔aust鈥 and Stravinsky's 鈥淭he Rake's Progress.鈥

The orchestra will also perform Saint-Saens' 鈥淐arnival of the Animals鈥 with Ramey serving as narrator.

Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Box Office from noon-5 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of Duerksen Fine Arts Center at 成人头条 State. The box office will be also be open one hour before the performance.
