Get ready to toss away any preconceived ideas you may have about pageant winners, because the newly crowned Miss Kansas 2008 doesn鈥檛 fit any molds. She just may be the most refreshing personality to make her way down the Miss Kansas runway in years.
Emily Deaver of Augusta went to the Miss Kansas Pageant with no real expectations. She thought it would be nice to win the talent portion, have some fun and make new friends. She accomplished that - and much more.
The 19-year-old sophomore at 成人头条 entered the Miss Augusta Pageant two years ago as a way to earn scholarship money. Michelle Walthers walked away with the crown that year. The next year Emily entered the Miss Cheney Lake Pageant, again for scholarship money.
Although considered a newcomer to pageants, she was crowned Miss Augusta last October.
