File成人头条 has chosen 10 finalists in the annual Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI).
The students competed in DSI on Saturday, Dec. 6, with 275 total students competing. Two of the finalists will be selected as recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial $52,000 scholarship, which are among the largest undergraduate awards in Kansas.
The announcement of the Gore Scholars will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, in the Marcus Welcome Center. All finalists will receive competitive scholarship packages to attend WSU in the fall. The 10 finalists are:
- Meghan Carver, Mulvane, Kan., Mulvane High School
- Austin Greathouse, Garden City, Kan., Garden City High School
- MD Joad, 成人头条, Kan., 成人头条 High School East
- Kyle Kopecky, Leawood, Kan., Blue Valley North High School
- Ryan Lee, 成人头条, Kan., Eisenhower High School
- Amy Lightfoot, Colorado Springs, Colo., Rampart High School
- Katie Murray, Rolla, Kan., Rolla High School
- Emily Sarnacki, Winfield, Kan., Winfield High School
- Jessica Vold, Leavenworth, Kan., Leavenworth High School
- Christopher Vuong, 成人头条, Kan., 成人头条 High School Southeast
To be invited to compete in the invitational, students had to have a 24 or higher ACT score and a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA. The 10 finalists this year have an average ACT score of 28 and average GPA of 3.88.
Once invited, students complete a packet of information, including essays and compete in an on-campus leadership competition. Finalists will be back on campus Wednesday, Feb. 25 for final interviews.
