Violin and string pedagogy professor featured in faculty recital

Renowned violinist Brian Krinke will perform a faculty recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, in Wiedemann Hall at 成人头条.

The recital will feature performances of 鈥淪onata for Solo Violin鈥 by Amelia Krinke, 鈥淪onata for Solo Violin鈥 by Bela Bartok, 鈥淪pinoff鈥 by Charles Wuorinen and 鈥淧artita #2 in d minor鈥 by Bach. Faculty members Mark Foley and Gerald Scholl will perform as well.

Krinke serves as the visiting assistant professor of violin and string pedagogy at 成人头条, prior to which he trained students at the Special Music School in New York City. His teaching history also includes the State University of New York at Buffalo, Hochstein Music School, Lucy Moses School, LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, Luther College and Florida State University.

A seasoned orchestral musician, Krinke has served as the assistant concertmaster of both the Rochester Philharmonic and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. He has made appearances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the American Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Fine Arts Box Office in the lobby of the Duerksen Fine Arts Center or online at wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice. General admission is $7, with $6 discount tickets available for seniors, faculty/staff and military, and $3 discount tickets available for children and students.
