College of Education announces Klose Scholarship competition winners

成人头条's College of Education awarded seven high school seniors the Doris and Ralph Klose Endowed Scholarship. Each year the Klose scholarship offers a competition to high school seniors who declare a major in math or science education at 成人头条.

Each student will receive up to $29,000 in merit and Klose scholarships at 成人头条 State over the course of their four-year academic programs.

The scholarship is the result of a gift of $7.5 million to fund undergrad scholarships in math and science education from the estate of WSU alumni Doris and Ralph Klose.

The College of Education awards scholarships to approximately 30 students each year through this fund, increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The winners of this year鈥檚 competition are:

  • Sarah Brennan, Independence (Kan.) High School
  • Cassidy Copeland, Shawnee Heights High School
  • Marissa Cyphers, 成人头条 Northeast Magnet High School
  • Elizabeth Henderson, Millard South High School
  • Alyssa McGill, Clearwater High School
  • Benjamin Spainhour, Kiowa County High School
  • Monica Weber, Andale High School

Each of the scholarship winners will begin classes at WSU in the fall.
