The Center for Community Support and Research at 成人头条 is implementing new research to better understand and serve older adults with psychiatric disabilities.
The research project, called 鈥淎ssessment of Physical Health Concerns of Older Adults with Psychiatric Disabilities,鈥� will not only help to identify effective and quality services that exist for older adults with psychiatric disabilities, it will help identify service gaps.
The research is funded by a $19,084 grant from the Gridley-Hoover Pilot Research Program.
The project involves a 10-year partnership with 25 Kansas mental health consumer-run organizations (CROs), the Kansas Consumer Advisory Council, the Kansas CRO Network and the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.
Overall, the project鈥檚 objective is to understand what and how the physical health concerns of older adults with psychiatric disabilities are being addressed.
The research also will help provide a foundation for future funded research through the new Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration鈥檚 鈥淥lder Adults Targeted Capacity Expansion鈥� initiative or the National Institute of Aging.
