WSU solidifies visual identity with new logo

As part of an overall strategy to create a comprehensive visual identity system for the university, a new logo has been introduced at 成人头条. The logo and visual identity system that supports it will be available by Sept. 14, although it will be a phased implementation during several years.

The new logo will replace the university's current logo and the wheat logo used by athletics. No changes are being made to WuShock or to other logos used by athletics. The official university colors will remain black and yellow.

The cost of developing a new logo was $15,000, and the entire visual identity system cost $50,000. The money came from budgeted funds in fiscal year 2009.

Current supplies on campus will be used first, but after Sept. 14, any new logo merchandise that is created will use the new WSU logo.

The project was coordinated by University Relations. 成人头条-based Gardner Design was responsible for the logo design and the supporting visual standards.

The visual identity system is a set of standards and guidelines that help direct graphic designers and others on how to consistently use the university's name, logo, color and other design elements on everything from letterhead to signs.

"Consistent visual communication is an important part of a successful cost-effective marketing program," said Barth Hague, associate vice president for University Relations.
