The 成人头条 State College of Education is hosting its fall Ed Talk, featuring Yolanda Camarena, president of the Kansas Hispanic Education and Development Foundation board of directors.
Camarena will present 鈥淭urning College Dreams into College Degrees,鈥 which details methods the KHEDF uses to encourage underrepresented youth to pursue and successfully navigate higher education.
Ed Talk is open to the public and is from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex.
An alumna of the College of Education, Camarena built a career in higher education administration. She served as director of admissions for Newman University and associate director of the master鈥檚 in public policy program at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
While at Harvard, she earned a master鈥檚 degree in public administration and helped found the Journal of Hispanic Policy, a resource presenting research on issues affecting the Hispanic population.
