School of Performing Arts presents award-winning Broadway show, 'Company'

成人头条鈥檚 School of Performing Arts will present well-known playwright Stephen Sondheim鈥檚 production, 鈥淐ompany.鈥

The play is rated R and will run at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 3-5, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, in Wilner Auditorium.

鈥淐ompany鈥 premiered on Broadway in 1970 where it ran for more than two years. It is commonly recognized as the first concept musical, which doesn鈥檛 focus on a chronological plot, and won seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score and Lyrics and Best Book.

The show centers on Robert, a New York City bachelor with commitment issues, his married friends and his three sometimes girlfriends.

鈥淐ompany鈥 is about love, marriage and the innumerable ways we embrace, negotiate and avoid relationships. The show is described as funny, wise and up to date despite its age.

The cast is composed of undergraduate and graduate music theater and voice majors Dylan Harris, Brittnee Hill, Xan Mattek, Hannah Fernandez, Karen Blackmon, Noah Montgomery, Austin Ragusin, Anne Briggs, Caleb Hand, Madi White, Colter Hawkes, Meredith Hollan, Carlton Ryker and Kristen Bock.

Stage direction is by Marie Allyn King, director of Opera Theater, choreography is by dance instructor Amy Baker Schwiethale with assistance from Gavin Myers. Philip Taylor is music director and Ed Baker is fight choreographer with assistance from Madi White.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Fine Arts Box Office in the lobby of the Duerksen Fine Arts Center or online at . General admission is $20, with $18 discount tickets available for seniors, faculty/staff and military or $10 tickets for children and students.
