成人头条 School of Music will host a faculty recital by Betul Soykan, professor of violin.
The event, 鈥淔rom War to Peace,鈥 will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in Wiedemann Hall, featuring Soykan and guest pianist Juan Andrade performing Holocaust inspired sonatas by Ferguson, Messiaen and Prokofiev.
Soyken joined WSU faculty in fall 2016, having previously taught at the University of Texas-RGV. She was trained at a conservatory in Europe and holds four degrees in violin performance and string pedagogy. She has performed internationally and worked with recording artists on Cesar Frank鈥檚 sonatas and the 鈥淐omplete Sonatas of Joaquin Turina.鈥
The event is free and open to the public.
