Shocker-branded buses

Shocker-branded buses hit the streets of 成人头条

Two new battery-powered buses wrapped in Shocker pride will soon be seen zipping through 成人头条's streets.

成人头条 Transit recently unveiled the 成人头条-branded buses, which are ecofriendly, filled with modern conveniences, and will circulate among the university鈥檚 main campus, as well as 成人头条 State South, WSU Tech and the Metroplex.

成人头条 Transit took over 成人头条 State鈥檚 bus routes in August. Bus services and all 成人头条 Transit bus services come at no additional charge for staff, faculty and students. However, all Shockers MUST show their 成人头条 State ID card when they board the bus. Guests and visitors to the 成人头条 State campus can ride  at no additional charge.

The state-of-the-art eco-friendly buses are equipped with a fold-down bike rack on the front of the bus with spaces or positions to hold three bikes, free Wi-Fi and 24 seats per bus. Riders can also opt to stand and use the buses鈥 balancing handles.

Pictured above: WuShock presents the two new Shocker-branded, battery-powered buses that will be circulating among 成人头条's main campus, WSU Tech, and the Metroplex.

Shocker Neighborhood Commitment

Shocker Neighborhood Commitment offers scholarships and support to 成人头条 State鈥檚 neighbors

成人头条 has created a scholarship and support network to help those nearest to its campus. The Shocker Neighborhood Commitment provides funding to make college more affordable and attainable for recent high school graduates living in the Shocker Neighborhood.

The scholarship provides last-dollar funding, which means it will cover the unmet need of qualified students. It is available to students who reside between Oliver Street and Interstate 135 to the east and west, and Kansas Highway 96 and Central Avenue to the north and south.

All recipients will also receive academic support and career planning services from one or more of the universities signature support programs.

Walk with Wu

'Walk with Wu' celebrates 125 years of 成人头条 State

In honor of 成人头条's 125th anniversary, three 成人头条 State faculty members have teamed up with an alumna artist to create "A Walk with Wu," a graphic novel that chronicles the university's rich history through the eyes of our beloved mascot: WuShock.

鈥淲e hope that readers will appreciate the different phases of 成人头条 State鈥檚 story and how we have changed while maintaining the core of who we are," said Dr. Jay Price, professor of history and one of the book's authors.

It's the perfect gift for all Shockers. The books, which sell for $12, are available in the Rhatigan Student Center Shocker Stores.

The podcast series is called Generation Lead and features voices from current WSU students, staff, faculty, and community partners.

Due to the recent virtual change in in-person programming, the podcast series provides high impact dialogue that empowers, challenges, and motivates a generation to lead and take space in their personal capacities with great measure. You can check out previous and upcoming episodes via streaming platforms like Anchor, Spotify, Breaker, and Google Podcasts.

The Creator of Change, we鈥檙e going to learn and discuss more about the ICT Community Fridge Project. This initiative and movement have been giving back in the form of providing mutual aid. The fridge serves as a resource to reduce food insecurity in targeted areas across the city.

Tajahnae Stocker has developed a program that precisely acknowledges the disparities and provides relief to the barriers and challenges that folks are faced with daily. Being a current student, we will explore the creation of her recent idea and discuss what leadership capabilities it鈥檚 taken to develop such a viable resource in such a short amount of time
