What is your degree in?
My degree is a Bachelor of Business Administration marketing degree with a minor in graphic design.
What led you to WSU?
I chose 成人头条 because of the W. Frank Barton School of Business. 成人头条 State鈥檚 business school offers a top-quality education at an affordable price in comparison to other colleges in the area.
I鈥檝e had professors that are highly experienced in the business world and I鈥檓 glad I was given the opportunity to learn from them.
How are you feeling leading up to graduation?
I鈥檓 nervous to enter the job market at its current state, but I鈥檓 excited for what the future holds for me. College has been a long journey. Like most good things, it too must come to an end.
College is definitely a grind and I think I鈥檓 ready to call myself a Shocker Grad!
What are your career plans?
I'm passionate about teaming up with creatives to translate concepts and emotions through visual communication.
I鈥檇 like to gain some experience in an advertising agency soon, but I鈥檓 open to anything that might help to make a positive change in the lives of others.
How has the COVID-19 crisis altered those plans, if at all?
The COVID-19 crisis has put a bit of a hold on lining up a full-time job after graduation, but I鈥檓 confident that the job will come when the time is right.
For now, I plan on using this time to update my portfolio and resume in anticipation of job applications opening up.
What advice do you have for other students on how to cope with the uncertainty of these times?
It鈥檚 easy for negative thoughts to consume you. My advice for current students is to do whatever you need to do in order to keep a positive mindset during these uncertain times.
Utilize your resources. Establish routines. Take care of yourself.
What has been your most helpful learning experience while a student at WSU?
My most helpful learning experiences while attending 成人头条 State have always been during the internships I鈥檝e had over the years. Classes are meant to simulate the real world, but nothing really replaces actually working in your area of study.
I highly recommend that all students participate in an internship or co-op and get a feel for what it鈥檚 like to work in that field.
What was been your biggest challenge as a student, and how did you overcome it?
Being a college student on its own is a challenge. But if you鈥檙e like most college students, the true challenge is in finding balance between classes, internships, extracurricular activities, and part-time jobs.
I found success in managing my time wisely. Develop a schedule and stick to it. Make sure to allocate time for commuting, exercise, eating and socialization. All work and no play, well, you know the rest.
