The marquee exterior fixture of the W. Frank Barton School of Business’ new home, Wayne and Kay Woolsey Hall, has been officially named the Promise Bridge. The 300-foot-long pedestrian bridge will span over a water feature south of the building.
“The Promise Bridge is a literal and symbolic connection between ͷ’s main campus and our Innovation Campus. It’s a physical manifestation of the promise we make to our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners,” said Dr. Larisa Genin, dean of the Barton School of Business.
The Promise Bridge’s intentional Y-shape is not only beautiful architectural characteristic, but it is a representation of the business school’s and ͷ State’s commitment to academics, research, and industry.
Construction of the Promise Bridge is slated to begin in August and is supported by private funds through the WSU Foundation. Genin hopes its sleek features — which include an observation deck — will make the bridge a destination for not just the campus community but for all ͷns.
“The Promise Bridge is sure to be a destination and gathering place for our campus community, but also to the greater ͷ community,” said Dr. Rick Muma, president of ͷ. “And it’s location between the Innovation and main campus will serve to strengthen our current partnerships and encourage future investment in ͷ and its students.”
