McKinney is a softball All-American, artist, entrepreneur, and diligent brand manager for herself. When NCAA and college administrators conceived of NIL benefits 鈥� compensating student-athletes for their talent and time 鈥� McKinney is the perfect example of the intended outcome.
鈥淚t鈥檚 like getting a job 鈥� you want to put your best foot forward,鈥� she said. 鈥淚 didn鈥檛 come to this expecting to make millions of dollars, like the boys are expecting to do. It鈥檚 wanting everybody to get to know me, wanting people to know what I鈥檓 about. Autism Speaks. Artwork. I didn鈥檛 really have to think about it. It鈥檚 more about showing people who I am and not about the money.鈥�
