Shocker Rowing will celebrate its 50th anniversary April 26-27 with activities honoring the history of the program at 成人头条. 

Founded in 1975, Shocker Rowing has competed at home on the Arkansas River and across the nation in the sport鈥檚 most prestigious events. The celebration of five decades of excellence will include opportunities for alumni, current Shockers and the community to recognize the many achievements of crew at 成人头条 State. 

"We are thrilled to celebrate this significant milestone in Shocker Rowing's history," said Calvin Cupp, coach of Shocker Rowing. "This anniversary is not only a testament to the hard work and dedication of our athletes, coaches and supporters, but also a reflection of the strong sense of community that has been built over the past 50 years. We look forward to the next 50 being even better." 

Events will take place at the River Vista Boathouse, on the Arkansas River and on campus. 

Anniversary events: 

• Alumni row: An opportunity for alumni to reunite and take to the water once again.
• Community open house: An invitation to the 成人头条 community to visit facilities, meet the team and learn more about the sport.
• Campus tours: Rediscover the campus with a guided tour showcasing the latest developments and facilities that have supported athletes' success.
• Cocktail reception: An evening celebrating the history and accomplishments of Shocker Rowing, featuring guest speakers, slide shows, the unveiling of a new Shocker Rowing recruitment video, silent auction and more.
• Plains Regional Regatta: Watch as present Shocker Rowing athletes compete in a collegiate competition, highlighting the program's enduring spirit and competitive edge.
• Mayoral proclamation: The celebration will feature a special proclamation from Mayor Lily Wu recognizing the impact and achievements of Shocker Rowing over the past 50 years.
• Boat dedications: A dedication of several rowing shells after the endowed funds that have been created for Shocker Rowing. Each boat in the boathouse has been named with care and respect, reflecting the values and achievements of our community.  

All alumni, supporters and community members are invited to celebrate this remarkable achievement.
