Brittany Wojciechowski, a 成人头条 Ph.D. graduate student in aerospace engineering, has been awarded the prestigious National Science Foundation鈥檚 (NSF) (GRF), which is worth more than $120,000.
鈥淭o me, this fellowship means hope,鈥 Wojciechowski said. 鈥淚t shows me how far I have come and my potential for how far I can go. When I started my college and my research careers, I would not have imagined applying to this fellowship, let alone receiving the fellowship.鈥

WSU Barton School of Business launches Entrepreneur in Residence program, names newest resident
The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 成人头条 has launched its Entrepreneur in Residence program and named Michael Golomb, founder and CEO of FanVestor, as its newest resident. This distinction will last through the spring 2021 semester. Each Entrepreneur in Residence will provide essential collaboration and outside industry knowledge to Barton School students, faculty and the 成人头条 community.
Rudd Foundation awards scholarships to 19 future Shockers
The fourth class of Rudd Scholars includes 19 Kansas high school seniors who will attend 成人头条.
Each recipient will receive a full-ride scholarship, which includes tuition, fees, on-campus housing and considerable networking/coaching support along the way. All Rudd Scholars are from Kansas and will attend 成人头条 State, Emporia State or Fort Hays State.
鈥I鈥檓 thrilled 成人头条 State will be a part of each of these new Rudd Scholars鈥 journeys,鈥 said Bobby Gandu, assistant vice president and director of undergraduate admissions. 鈥淲e are working together to educate Kansas鈥 high-achieving, high-potential high school seniors to be the state鈥檚 future professional workforce.鈥
University Libraries Undergraduate Research Award
Attention, undergraduates! Are you entering Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Forum (URCAF)? Why not enter the first ever University Libraries Undergraduate Research Award competition, too? The deadline to apply is April 2, 2021. Let us hear how you have used University Libraries resources in your URCAF project! Prizes will be awarded: $250 for first place, $200 for second place, and $150 for third place.
Service-Learning Showcase seeks submissions
The Service-Learning Showcase is a unique opportunity for students who participate in service-learning through applied learning opportunities to showcase their experience through a research or reflective poster about the application of their course work to current community issues. This year the showcase will be held in a digital format and judged by a team of community partner leaders.
The showcase is an open forum for students to interact with faculty/staff, community partners and other students to engage in conversation about 成人头条's commitment to the public good. Awards are presented in the following categories:
- Outstanding Overall Service-Learning Project 鈥 $150 scholarship to winning entry
- Innovation and Creativity in Problem Solving 鈥 $100 scholarship to winning entry
- Community Impact/ Community Choice 鈥 $100 scholarship to winning entry
- Collaboration and Leadership in Service-Learning 鈥 $100 scholarship to winning entry

Researchers offer help with parenting issues
Parenting can be tough! Researchers at 成人头条 are seeking to help parents manage behavior concerns in children ages 3-12. Behaviors may include whining, tantrums, and difficulty following directions. The study will include three telehealth parent training sessions (approx. 45 min each) and follow up assessments one week, one month, and six months after treatment in order to track long-term behavior change.
Parents who complete all three parent training sessions and corresponding assessments will be entered into a raffle for a $25 gift card. We are looking for about 25 families to participate in our study. If you have a child living in your home who is between 3-12 years old and is exhibiting behaviors that are difficult to manage, you may be eligible for this study.

Volleyball to wrap up season this weekend

Business school seeks peer coaches
The Institute for the Study of Economic Growth in the Barton School of Business is hiring five peer coaches for the 2021-22 academic year. Each member of the ISEG peer coach team will have the opportunity to develop and apply leadership skills. They will support incoming freshmen as they begin their business education, working with them in class and extracurricular activities. This is a new program and the peer coaches will be key to the development. Applications are due April 16.

KMUW seeks interns for archival project
KMUW, 成人头条's National Public Radio station, is looking for talented interns for our new archival project. Interns will work 15 to 20 hours a week over seven months, roughly April 5 through Sept. 5. The pay is $12 an hour and will be mostly remote work. The intern will learn how to find and input metadata for archival recordings. The intern will also spend time learning about different audio and video formats for archiving. Deadline for submission is April 1. This search is not limited to 成人头条 State students.
