Hydrogeology site

New hydrogeology site provides unique chances for students, researchers

ͷ State can now list a 10-well hydrogeology field site among its assets for student applied learning and professional research projects.

Hydrogeology professor Andrew Swindle had the idea for the site and started contacting consulting companies to see how he could get his idea off the ground.

The site, which was finished during the fall 2019 semester, includes nine 2-inch wells and one 6-inch well that allow water flow and direction to be measured accurately.

Men's basketball parking Nov. 2019

WSU Men's Basketball home game tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 4)! Prepare for certain parking lot closures

Prepare for certain parking lot closures three hours prior to game time tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 4). Unauthorized vehicles must vacate the lots prior to the scheduled closure time in order to avoid receiving a parking citation.

Look at the map above to make alternative parking arrangements if necessary.

Arrive on campus earlier than usual. Buy yourself some time in case you need to park farther away from your desired destination than normal.

Dress for the weather in case you need to walk a little farther than usual, or need to wait a few minutes for a shuttle to take you to your desired destination.

Consider carpooling. Not only does this reduce our carbon footprint, but it also reduces traffic and parking congestion.

Take advantage of the many routes and inexpensive fares ͷ Transit has to offer.

Should you need accommodations because of a disability, call Disability Services at 978-3309.

For parking questions, call OneStop at 978-4775.

Gore Core Jan. 2020

Event recap: Gore Core

Gore Core is an event hosted by Student Ambassador Society for the prospective students who are named semifinalists in the DSI competition. This year, 82 semifinalists were invited to attend, and as you can see by the photo above, they had a great time.

The event began at the RSC with pizza, bowling, and ice breakers. Students then had the opportunity to take a tour around ͷ on a party bus. At each stop, they were tasked to come up with a creative photo or video. Judging from the social media posts, the students enjoyed their time on campus and in the city, met new people, and were able to experience ͷ State in a setting different than the recruitment events many of them previously attended.

Finalists in the DSI competition will be invited to attend callbacks on Thursday, Jan. 23.
