Walking Level Key
Level 1: Relaxing 鈥 Days tend to be shorter in length with a slow pace. Light physical activity
is required, such as walking 10-15 minutes with little difficulty and able to climb
a few steps.
Level 2: Leisurely 鈥 Some days are longer than others but move at a consistent pace. Passengers
should be able to easily climb a flight of stairs, stand for short periods of time
and walk for reasonable distances, possibly over uneven terrain (cobblestones, gravel,
etc).
Level 3: Moderate 鈥 Days tend to be longer and operate at a quicker pace. Expect to stand
and walk for long periods with changes in gradient, terrain.
Level 4: Active 鈥 Days are long and move at a more vigorous pace. Scheduled activities may
require physical effort and require passengers to be in good shape. Expect long periods

Four Corners of Kansas Series I: Northeast Kansas

Join us as we explore the beauty and wonders of Leavenworth, Kansas, the first destination in our new Four Corners of Kansas travel series! We begin our day with a stop at the C.W. Parker Carousel Museum dedicated to telling the remarkable story of Charles Wallace Parker, Leavenworth鈥檚 own 鈥淐arnival King.鈥 Visitors can ride a restored 1913 carousel with wooden, hand-carved mounts, such as show ponies and Kansas jackrabbits as well as chariot benches. We will also tour a display of artifacts from turn-of-the-century amusement parks and hear about the thousands of volunteer hours dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of many museum attractions. Lunch will be a catered meal served by the 鈥淗arvey Girls鈥 in a renovated 1888 Union Railroad Depot overlooking the Missouri River. Included is a fun and informative presentation about Fred Harvey鈥檚 restaurant empire. After lunch, we will meet the historians behind the Richard Allen Cultural Center and Museum. There we will explore Leavenworth鈥檚 African-American history, including artifacts recovered from the former AME Bethel Church, a stop on the Underground Railroad. We will also view memorabilia donated by General Colin Powell, apparel and equipment used by the U.S. Army鈥檚 鈥淏uffalo Soldiers鈥 and the Black Dignity Portrait Collection, featuring photos captured between the 1890s and 1940s. Our day ends with a guided tour of Fort Leavenworth, the oldest active military post west of the Mississippi River. Known as the 鈥淏est Hometown in the Army,鈥 the fort features the Buffalo Soldier Monument, the Frontier Army Museum, markers of the Oregon and Santa Fe Trails and more. Our tour will include a drive past historic homes and buildings, including the former U.S. Disciplinary Barracks and the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, established by President Lincoln in 1862, the final resting place for 23,000 veterans from every war since 1812. We will depart the 鈥淔irst City of Kansas鈥 with lasting memories! As a special bonus- if you attend all four trips in this series, you鈥檒l get 40% off the final trip! This fall we are excited to offer our first overnight trip! We will head south to
Central Texas to explore Waco, the Fort Worth Stockyards and many other sites along
the way, including a pit stop at Buc-ee鈥檚! Friday afternoon, we arrive in Waco and
tour the famous Dr. Pepper Museum. There we will learn how Dr. Pepper is made, how
the name was created and the complete history of this famous beverage. We will end
our tour with a Dr. Pepper float! Dinner will be provided in Waco. After dinner we
will check into our hotel to enjoy our evening accommodations. Saturday begins with
breakfast at our hotel and a visit to Magnolia Silos. Created by Chip and Joanna Gaines
of HGTV Fixer Upper fame, the Silos are a cornerstone of the Waco experience. There
will be time to shop at the main Magnolia Market and Magnolia Home, six boutique-style
shops with specific themes or tour the church on the grounds. Don鈥檛 forget to visit
the Silos Baking Company for fantastic baked goods or try one of the many food trucks
located on the premise. Whether you lounge on the lawn, play on the Wiffle Ball field
or take an easy stroll through the garden, we want you to enjoy your time and experience
at this unique attraction. Late morning, we will depart Waco and head to the hustle
and bustle of downtown Fort Worth. Our first stop will be lunch at Riscky鈥檚 BBQ, a
legend in Texas BBQ since 1927. After lunch, Mr. Stockyard, our tour guide for the
day, will board the bus and provide us with the colorful history of Fort Worth, including
the Historic Sundance Square, and the downtown that was known as 鈥淗ell鈥檚 Half Acre鈥
for its saloons and gambling dens. This area was frequented by cowboys and outlaws
including Butch Cassidy, Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp. After our tour, Mr. Stockyard
will take us to the famous Fort Worth Stockyards where we will tour many locations
including the Historic Cowtown Coliseum and Billy Bob鈥檚 Texas.
Each passenger is allowed one large suitcase on the tour. This bag will be tagged,
handled and accounted for by Village for the duration of the tour. Smaller carry-on
bags may be brought along and stored either under the coach or above the seats, but
those bags will be your responsibility to handle.

wineries in Oklahoma it鈥檚 hard to count them all. Join us for a day of tastings, tours
and springtime in Oklahoma. We begin our day in Edmond at Claren Ridge Vineyard and
Winery. We will tour the facility and enjoy a sneak peek into the beautiful world
of Oklahoma winemaking. You will receive an exclusive tour with the winemaker, Thomas
Ingmire, and learn about all aspects of viticulture and winemaking, from the vineyard
to all production details, including vines, winemaking, barreling and bottling. You
will also get a 鈥渂arrel tasting鈥 of unfinished wine straight from a barrel of aging
wine. After our tour, we will have a four-flight wine tasting and then enjoy lunch

The Basics of Wine Tasting

Classic Fortified Wines From Spain and Portugal
March 10 | Sherry is a fortified wine from the Andalusia region of Spain, known for its wide range
of flavors and styles. It鈥檚 made from white grapes grown in the region鈥檚 chalky soil,
using a solera system in which barrels are stacked in a triangle shape. The oldest
wines are at the bottom, and new wine is added to the top. You鈥檒l learn all about
the production and various colors and styles of this ancient wine and taste a full
array from dry to sweet.
March 17 | Port, Portugal鈥檚 most illustrious wine, hails from the steep, terraced vineyards of the
Douro Valley, a testament to the country鈥檚 rich winemaking heritage. For the most
part, Port is a full-bodied, sweet red wine with notes of berries, caramel, cinnamon
and chocolate. But there are other varieties including dry, semi-dry, white and ros茅
varieties. In other words, just as with other types of wines, port comes in a wonderful
variety of styles to suit your tastes. We will taste several different styles. You

Yoga For Active Seniors
Yoga for active seniors is an exploration of movement utilizing a combination of seated

Dots, Bams, and Cracs, Oh My! Learn American Mah Jongg
Discover the world of American Mah Jongg, a captivating rummy-like game played with
symbolled domino-like tiles. This class introduces you to the strategies and intricacies
of the game, where the challenge lies in selecting the optimal winning strategy based
on the tiles dealt to you. American Mah Jongg is played with tiles featuring Dots,
Bams and Cracs, combining skill, logic and chance in every session. Typically played
with four players, adaptations exist for two or three players. Each game lasts approximately
15 minutes, making it both engaging and time-efficient. Participants receive the latest
league rule card and comprehensive guidebook. The class spans two weeks, culminating
in a final session dedicated to three hours of immersive gameplay. Whether you鈥檙e
new to the game or looking to refine your skills, this course promises an enriching

Fly Fishing: The Basics
This course is for the beginner and the intermediate interested in learning more about fly fishing. This is a lecture-based course that will cover all aspects of the sport, from the history to the equipment needed to get started. Students will receive information about how to buy their first fly rod and reel. Participants will also get hands-on training on how to tie knots while on the water as well as how to rig a fly rod for fishing different types of flies. WSU Community Steel Band
This musical journey to the Caribbean is a hands-on experience in which you will learn
how to play the steel drums. During the seven-week term, we will approach proper playing
techniques, which you will apply by learning a song. History of the art form and its
birthplace will be discussed in class, along with easy 鈥渉omework鈥 assignments (short
YouTube videos, articles, listening examples). Your success and enjoyment in the band,
as well as the band鈥檚 success, is dependent on regular attendance. Everyone in the
band plays an important role. Please make every effort to attend each class. Come
join us for a low stress, fun musical adventure! Recommendations for enrollment: no
musical experience needed but helpful; able to stand for 60-75 minutes; reasonable
mobility in fingers, wrists and arms; willingness to practice before class recommended
if needed. Course enrollment is limited to 11 participants.

Cancellation Policy
A student who withdraws a minimum of 24 hours prior to the first class will receive a registration refund less 15%. Failure to attend class does not constitute withdrawal. All withdrawals must be received in writing and postmarked prior to the first class meeting. No refunds will be issued after the first class meeting. We will refund 100% of your registration fee if the class you wish to take is full or if the class is canceled.
TRIP CANCELLATION
Unless otherwise noted, a 15% administrative fee will be assessed on all cancellations received more than 7 days prior to departure. NO REFUNDS will be issued within 7 days of trip departure. All cancellations must be received in writing.
