After a 30-year career in the WSU Department of Philosophy, Dr. Jeffrey Hershfield is retiring at the end of the Fall 2024 semester. Recipient of the John R. Barrier Distinguished Teaching Award in Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Hershfield specialized in Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Sex and Love, and related areas in the Analytic tradition.
Most recently Dr. Hershfield has served as the Director of the Legal Education Accelerated Degree (LEAD) program, the Director of the MA in Liberal Arts (MALS) program, faculty advisor to the Pre-law Student Association, Pre-Law coordinator for WSU, and Pre-Law Advisor for Philosophy.
