Remember to Apply for the Honors Student Fee Scholarship

The Honors Student Council has instituted a scholarship fund to alleviate any financial burden placed on students by the Honors Student Fee.

The application contains a 250 word essay. Applications are evaluated by the Student Council. If selected, this scholarship will cover half of the applicant's $50 Honors Student Fee for the Spring 2021 semester. Preference will be given to applicants who do not receive the Honors Merit Scholarship. Applicants will need to reapply every semester.

Don't Miss Honors Hour about LinkedIn Learning

The Honors Student Council is hosting Honors Hour: LinkedIn Learning on Friday, March 5, at 11 a.m. Angelique Banh, a LinkedIn Learning Champion, is excited to share the platform's best features.

Every student who attends will earn points for their Honors House AND be entered into a drawing for an Honors College t-shirt and hand sanitizer. One winner will be randomly selected at the end of the event.

Peer Mentors Wanted for the Summer Research Institute in First-Year Research Experience

The Summer Research Institute (SRI) in First-Year Research Experience (FYRE) will be hosted on the WSU main campus June 6-10, 2021. SRI Peer Mentors will assist with camp preparation during the months of April and May. During the week of camp in June, SRI Peer Mentors will lead team building activities, help an incoming Shocker transition into college life, participate in research alongside the campers, and assist the SRI team with other activities.

If you have an interest in research, enjoy helping students explore their interests in research, and are looking for a short-term paid position, this would be perfect for you!

Submit Your Work for the Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Forum!

Students are invited to submit research and creative work for the virtual Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Forum. Abstract submissions are due Friday, March 19, and video submissions are due Friday, April 2.

First place winners will receive $250 and second place winners will receive $100. Additionally, the  for demonstrating research skills that utilize the Libraries' resources, including collections, services, equipment, and facilities.


Judges Needed for the Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Forum

Faculty and staff are invited to serve as judges for this year鈥檚 virtual URCAF. You will judge at the comfort of your computer! Judging will take place on Friday, April 9, from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. but may open a few days earlier if all submissions have been uploaded.

 to register as a judge. Additional instructions will be sent as the competition gets closer. Please consider giving some of your time to this university-wide event that supports and recognizes student work across all areas!

Award recipients

Two Students Chosen as Recipients of the Women for Women's Innovation Award

成人头条鈥檚 Center for Entrepreneurship has granted two students the Women for Women's Innovation Award. Michelle wants to create an app to help drivers in the event of a car crash and Angelique wants to open a boutique for sustainable clothing. Angelique is an Honors College graduate and currently works in the Honors College as the Diversity Recruitment & Marketing Graduate Assistant. Click here for the full story.


Honors College Lounge Hours Have Changed

The Honors College lounge is now open later Monday through Thursday! Visit any time Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All COVID-19 guidelines must be followed.
