Student community arts opportunity - turn plastic into bedding

ad成人头条 student Samantha Cosgrove is hosting a community arts project and is inviting honors students to help.

The project is called The Plarn Project ICT and the goal is to demonstrate how to reduce waste and help others at the same time.

The project takes plastic bags and turns them into a yarn like substance called "plarn." The plarn will be woven into sleeping mats which will be distributed to homeless shelters.

How to help:

Friday Nov. 22, 1-2 p.m. RSC 1st floor: shred bags into plarn.

Saturday Nov. 23 1-5 p.m., University United Methodist Church: shred bags into plarn.

Sunday Nov. 23 1-5 p.m., RSC 264: crochet/knit sleeping mats. (Bring your own hooks and needles, size O-P hooks, size 10-11 needles).

Important advising information for graduates

Honors Stoles

Students graduating with a Track, University Honors Minor or Honors Baccalaureate are eligible to purchase a Cohen Honors Stole in the WSU Bookstore. You will need to ask a bookstore staff person to get one for you as they are not out on the shelf.

Application for Degree (AFD)

An Application for Degree (AFD) triggers the awarding of your bachelor's degree. Students should submit their AFD at least a semester before they intend to graduate. This gives your academic advisors plenty of time to go in and make sure everything is correct in your audit. You can find your AFD on your MyClasses tab in your MyWSU account below the registration links (right hand side).
