Inside the Program

Get real-world experience in high-tech research lab

In WSU's Human Performance Lab, you'll get to choose your path. As a student researcher, you'll work alongside faculty and be fully supported as you pursue a project or niche that suits your interests.

As you prepare for a career in exercise science, you'll be continuously exposed to research projects, including opportunities to work within local, state and regional companies. Many students who have come before you have gone on to full-time jobs with those very businesses.

Curriculum

The degree requires a minimum of 120 credit hours. You'll study the natural sciences and human anatomy. Then, you'll move on to more focused courses such as kinesiology, exercise, sport nutrition, and strength and conditioning — and your required field practicum and internship.

The concentration in strength and conditioning prepares students for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) examination. The CSCS credential is required for many jobs in the strength and conditioning industry.
