Quotes:
As a first-generation college student, I chose the Barton School of Business with a clear vision of who I wanted to become and what success would look like for me and future generations of my family. I was confident that the Barton School of Business could provide the opportunities to help me realize that vision, and it has indeed fulfilled that promise.
Receiving this award is an incredible honor that fills me with pride in my accomplishments. It stands as a testament to the invaluable support and guidance I鈥檝e received from my family, peers, and mentors along the way. Despite the challenges I encountered, I persevered, embracing the opportunities offered by the Barton School with determination and a drive for continued success. I eagerly look forward to what the future holds.
If I could offer any advice, it would be to keep an open mind and network actively. There is immense power in connections, relationships, and the transfer of trust. A single conversation can change the course of your professional career. Build a strong foundation, identify your strengths early on, and focus on developing them. Don鈥檛 dwell on your weaknesses. By doing so, you will set yourself up for success.
Janie Patterson, my high school business teacher, inspired my passion for Human Resource Management, while my mentors at Heartland Credit Union and Bombardier supported my academic and professional aspirations. Conversations with Kent Dang and Jessica Ponce at Koch Industries opened doors I never imagined, and Kristen Gray and Dee Chisam have provided invaluable mentorship and guidance in building strong personal and professional relationships. Larisa Genin and Peri Widener, through the Widener Global Leaders Program, have shaped my growth as a leader and a woman in business. I am deeply grateful to my G2 Heat family and all the mentors who have supported and guided me throughout my journey.
