Quotes:

I chose the Barton School of Business because the school works hard to bring opportunities to its students. During my tour to WSU, I was blown away by the college's commitment to bringing opportunities to its students. One example of this is having businesses on the innovation campus, which allows students to intern in a way I didn't see at any other schools. In addition, the Barton School of Business offers many helpful sessions through Professional Edge that are more accessible when compared to other universities' similar programs.
Receiving the award of the Barton School of Business' 25 under 25 is very exciting. To me, it shows that my hard work is getting noticed which helps me stay motivated through my classes and extra-curricular activities. There are many hardworking students in the Barton School of Business, and I am truly honored to be placed among the top 25.
The best advice I could give a senior in high school who is about to start their freshman year of college is to get involved. The opportunities I have received largely come from the student organizations that I am a part of. Showing employers that you are motivated and willing to add extra work on your plate to better your education is vital to getting the job or internship you want. In addition, I have made great friends through the student organizations I am a part of. They really are the best place to meet people, and further your education.
Someone that has really been a mentor to me sense coming to WSU is Dr. Jodi Pelkowski. The first semester I was at WSU, she came to me and encouraged me to pursue a degree in Economics. At first, I was weary, but the more I learned about Economics the more I loved it. She even took the time out of her schedule to map out classes I should take to double major in Economics and International Business in the most efficient way. Recently, when I had questions about internships, I went to her to ask for some advice, and she helped me immensely. Not everyone has the commitment to their students to truly help them like Dr. Pelkowski does.
