Overview
I was trained as a mechanical engineer and business researcher to apply quantitative methods to solve business related problems. My research interests lie within competitive dynamics, namely market entries and entry threats and market exit. Firms attack competitors鈥 turf to turn competitors鈥 customers into their own, and this rivalry often results in the 鈥榮urvival of the fittest.鈥 This common phenomenon inspired me to investigate firms鈥 competitive behaviors, in particular how they apply their marketing tools in such dynamic context. More specifically, in the context of airline industry, I develop empirical models to investigate the links between incumbents鈥 marketing actions and a competitor鈥檚 market entry, exit, and threat of entry decisions, and how these links may vary over time.
Courses that I currently teach at the 成人头条 are 鈥渕arketing strategy鈥 and 鈥渋ntro to marketing鈥 at the undergraduate level. I have experience teaching 鈥渕arketing research,鈥 鈥渕arketing strategy,鈥 and 鈥渃ustomer analytics鈥 at the University of South Carolina.
I also have three years of work experience in FMCG industry, including marketing researcher and product manager positions. I have lived in Iran, France (French Riviera), and the United State (South east), learning from their culture helps me to see the world from multiple perspectives.
I am interested in aviation industry, cars, and digital currencies. Currently, I鈥檓 developing my miniature airport in my office. Feel free to stop by to see my airplane collection.
