In order to qualify for services, students must present written evidence from a qualified professional verifying their disability to the Director of ODS. All documentation received is confidential. The federal definition is as follows:
A person with a disability
- has a mental or physical impairment which substantially limits one or more of such person鈥檚 major life activities;
- has a record of such an impairment; or
- is regarded as having such an impairment.
鈥淢ajor life activities鈥� includes functions such as caring for one鈥檚 self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning and working.
