What is the ACT?
ACT stands for American College Test. The ACT is designed to assess high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The test covers four subject areas: English, mathematics, reading and science. Each subject area test receives a score ranging from one to 36. The composite score is the average of all four subject area test scores. Many colleges and universities use ACT scores as a factor in making admissions decisions.
How can I prepare to take the ACT?
Talent Search provides ACT workshops and informational sessions at select high schools. Dates and locations vary. ACT waivers are available to students who qualify.
