Setting Up Audio in Master Classrooms

The lavaliere microphone is intentionally provided to adequately project your voice throughout the space of the large theater-style classroom. It is also used to provide audio to your students on Zoom and to be heard by students wearing 鈥渓istening assistance鈥 headphones and hearing aids.

Step 1: Turning on the Mic

The first thing you need to do is to move the switch, located on top of the microphone, to the "On" position.

Step 2: Check the Battery Charge

Once the mic is on, check the battery meter on the transmitter to ensure your battery pack will make it through the duration of your class. If the battery pack is charged the small light about the on switch will emanate a green light.

If the battery pack is not charged it will create a red light or no light.

If the battery pack is not charged, you will have to call 978-3588 and our staff will bring you a charged battery pack.

When you are finished using the microphone, place it back in its charger completely and ensure that the microphone is off.

Step 3: Using the Microphone

To use the lavalier, or 鈥渓av鈥, microphone you need to clip it onto your shirt. The 鈥渓av鈥 microphone should be clipped onto the shirt鈥檚 lapel as closely to the chin as possible, especially if wearing a mask.

An alternative is to clip the microphone toward the top of a lanyard placed around one鈥檚 neck or to bunch the fabric of your top and clip it there.

Please do not clip the microphone below the third button on a button-up shirt. The mic pack can be clipped to your belt or placed in a pocket.
