Batman Connects with the Community

Kaisha Batman

Senior Kaisha Batman, a communications major (journalism emphasis) and sport management minor, is an intern with the 成人头条 Thunder hockey team. Here, she is exposed to every aspect of the sport industry, as well as the communication field.

Batman鈥檚 skills are put to the test while she assists with fan relations, fan entertainment, social media, game promotions, event management and overall organization at the arena.

鈥淭his internship has given me the opportunity to see a different side of the workplace and a new type of professional environment, one in which involves thinking on your toes and being prepared for unexpected situations,鈥 Batman said. 鈥淚t has helped me develop my personal skills, organizational skills, and people skills."

Interning at the 成人头条 Thunder has also provids Batman with interaction and engagement with fans who are dissatisfied with their experience.

She said she has learned to be understanding, calm and kind with an upset fan and strive for turning their evening into a positive experience, which was a fulfilling feeling for Batman.

鈥淚 realized how much I love the public relations side of the communication field and being involved with the community,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t has helped me further develop my knowledge on my career path and has made me extremely confident that I am in the right career field.鈥

Her favorite memory working at the 成人头条 Thunder was interacting with young, martial arts kids who performed during intermission and witnessing their energy and excitement after their performance.

鈥淢y one piece of advice for students within my major is to GET INVOLVED,鈥 Batman said. 鈥淏y having numerous internships, it has helped me see a wider variety of job opportunities, improve my strengths and weaknesses, as well as better understand my passions.鈥

Batman also interned at KAKE-TV prior to this internship, where she accompanied reporters, covered stories, interviewed subjects, and shot video.
