Students who are 60 years of age or older may enroll as auditors (non-credit) in most of the academic credit courses in which space is available. They must present a Medicare Card or driver鈥檚 license to validate age in order to register for a course. Tuition and student fees are waived, but students must pay any fees associated with the course such as a facilities use fee, a workshop fee, or a lab/special course fee, when applicable. Auditors still have to abide by the prerequisites and other college requirements in order to audit a course.

Application to WSU

If the 60+ adult has not enrolled at WSU before, they must complete an Application for Admission form and pay the application fee before registering. The application process can be completed or in person at the Office of Admissions on the main campus. They can also fill out the form in the West Campus office* and then mail the application and payment directly to the Office of Admissions, but this will take longer.

Reactivation of Former Student

If they have not been a student for 24 months, the student will have to fill out a 鈥淩eactivation of Former Student鈥 form at the Registrar鈥檚 Office on the main campus or in the West Campus office*. This process must be completed before the student can register to audit any classes.

Registration

Registration starts the Thursday after classes have started for any semester courses and the Tuesday of Pression Week One for any presession courses. If a class has a prerequisite such as admission to graduate school for graduate courses, program admission for courses where that is required, or prerequisite courses, the auditing student must complete those requirements before they can register for the course. Registration can be completed at the Registrar鈥檚 Office on the main campus or in the West Campus office*.

*If the student chooses to fill out any forms at the West Campus instead of on the main campus, the office staff will mail and/or email them over to the relevant department and that department will contact the student with any questions or updates.

Any questions or concerns may be directed to the staff at the WSU West Campus. Please call us at 316-978-6777 or come in to see us!! Our office is open every weekday from 8am to 5pm. Closings, holiday hours, and other updates will be posted to our page.
