Feb. 1, 2024 鈥 The College of Engineering at 成人头条 is hosting an Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) event, commonly known as Girl Day, for high school girls from 成人头条 and the surrounding area.

Jan. 19, 2024 - Phase One of the 成人头条 Biomedical Campus being built in the heart of downtown 成人头条 now has its official look. The joint health sciences project between 成人头条 and the University of Kansas will bring about remarkable opportunities for collaboration, innovation and research.

Jan. 17, 2024 鈥擲ince its establishment in 1965, the 成人头条 Foundation and Alumni Engagement (WSUFAE) has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing the university鈥檚 priorities. In May 2023, Elizabeth King announced her plans to retire as the WSUFAE president and CEO after 33 years of leading these efforts. Telly McGaha will be assuming this top position, joining us from Georgia State University.

Oct. 25, 2023 鈥 成人头条 is hosting the annual Expanding Your Horizons Workshop, a one-day event from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 that introduces middle school girls to a variety of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) areas.

Oct. 25, 2023 - 成人头条 State鈥檚 Rudd Scholars work with youngsters in the 鈥淏right Lights Educational Enrichment Program鈥 at the Leslie Rudd Learning Center at League 42鈥檚 McAdams Park baseball complex. Each afternoon, several of them work on math skills with students in fifth through eighth grade and literacy with students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Oct. 9, 2023 鈥 The 成人头条 Math Circle pairs pre-college students with mathematics professionals from WSU to understand and work with interesting problems and topics in math at weekly workshops.

Retirees event

Oct. 4, 2023 鈥 成人头条 has announced the creation of the WSU Retiree Association (WSURA), aimed at providing new paths for Shocker faculty and staff retirees to continue active engagement with the university. The new association adds to the existing array of perks available to retirees.

Sept. 28, 2023 鈥 Kansas home values will continue to appreciate in the coming year, according to the 2024 Kansas Housing Markets Forecast series published by the 成人头条 Center for Real Estate.

Sept. 26, 2023 - Kian Williams, a junior at 成人头条, is helping the Kansas Aviation Museum chart its future. The work researching aviation connects with the background that shaped a love for history. Williams volunteered at the Reno County Museum as a youngster.

Sept. 21, 2023 鈥 John and Gail Wadsworth have given a lead gift of $1.5 million to 成人头条 and Shocker Athletics, earmarked for the Softball Team Operations Facility at Wilkins Stadium. The building is a part of the $9.65 million Phase 1 of the stadium renovation plan, which will begin development in the spring of 2024.

Sept. 18, 2023 鈥 The community will soon have a new restaurant to choose from when Two Hands Corn Dogs opens on 成人头条鈥檚 campus Friday, Sept. 22.

Sept. 11, 2023 鈥 成人头条 is holding a parade next month and is inviting anyone in the community to join in. Starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 on the WSU campus, the parade is part of the university鈥檚 annual Shocktoberfest celebration.

Aug. 15, 2023 - Hannah Bui is now prepared to work with French-speaking colleagues at Airbus, thanks to 鈥淏usiness French for Beginners鈥 taught by 成人头条 lecturer Rachelle Swilley. Bui, a static stress engineer at Airbus, was one of about 15 employees who took the six-week course, taught for two hours each Friday, this summer at Airbus on WSU鈥檚 Innovation Campus.

Aug. 14, 2023 鈥 成人头条 State Dining is going high tech with the rollout of robotic food delivery on campus, thanks to a partnership with Starship Technologies.

According to the 2022 Economic Impact Study, WSU and WSU Tech鈥檚 total economic impact in Kansas in 2021 was $1.3 billion.
