Feb. 17, 2021 - In the fall, 成人头条 public health sciences students took on the questions and uncertainty of helping with COVID-19 testing at the Student Wellness Center. Most are considering a career in health care. The volunteer time offered an applied learning opportunity working with the public during a pandemic and added to their understanding of public health.

Feb. 5, 2021 - The Dockum Drug Store sit-in of 1958 is attracting new attention during Black History Month, in part thanks to NBC鈥檚 Today and 成人头条 native Sheinelle Jones. Several University of 成人头条 students participated in the sit-in, which is increasingly recognized as a landmark event in the Civil Rights Movement. NBC鈥檚 Today featured the events in a recent broadcast.

Jan. 14, 2021 鈥 成人头条鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Lab (MDL) is partnering with the Kansas capitol in Topeka to keep the state functioning during the COVID-19 pandemic. As of early January, the MDL began processing thousands of tests per week for the people who work and visit the Kansas State Capitol in Topeka 鈥 including legislators, staff, the media, lobbyists, or conferees.

Dec. 17, 2020 鈥 成人头条鈥檚 Community Engagement Institute鈥檚 coalition is working to better the lives of children by encouraging workplaces to establish family-friendly practices. WSU-CEI works closely with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to establish multisector partnerships and resources for the execution of the Child Maltreatment Prevention Plan across Kansas. WSU-CEI also organizes a statewide coalition for this effort called Kansas Power of the Positive.

Dec. 10, 2020 - Hannah Wilkinson, 成人头条 State's associate head strength and conditioning coach, is taking donations for Catholic Charities Harbor House domestic violence shelter and service. The campaign is an extension of the toy drive that strength and conditioning coach Kerry Rosenboom organized in previous years.

Dec. 2, 2020 鈥 成人头条 State has been successful in minimizing the spread of COVID-19 because college students are following social distancing guidelines. 成人头条 State鈥檚 Rho Beta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta and the Zeta Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta have had no cases of COVID-19.

November 23, 2020 - In February, Evergy invested in three initiatives that added valuable assets to the engineering program. One of those initiatives was the installation of solar panels on the roof of the John Bardo Center.

WuShock Doc

Oct. 28, 2020 - Tyler Pennick, director of videography for 成人头条 State鈥檚 Office of Strategic Communications, created a documentary about WuShock in bronze. After two years of development, the documentary was accepted into the Tallgrass Film Festival and awarded for its success.

Oct. 28, 2020 -- There are several artists with 成人头条 connections involved in the public art projects in and around the Riverfront Stadium, home of the 成人头条 Wind Surge minor-league professional team. Several of the public art projects are visible outside the stadium and more are scheduled for installation in the coming months. All of the artists are local or regional.
