Fall 2023 enrollments for WSU and WSU Tech

Sept. 27, 2023 鈥 成人头条's efforts to transform the educational experience for students and redefine the role of a university to foster statewide economic growth have yielded remarkable results: the highest enrollment in its 128-year history.

Sept. 26, 2023 - Kian Williams, a junior at 成人头条, is helping the Kansas Aviation Museum chart its future. The work researching aviation connects with the background that shaped a love for history. Williams volunteered at the Reno County Museum as a youngster.

Sept. 25, 2023 - Rudd Scholar Bayle Sandy found a sense of community at 成人头条 and enjoyed support from many sources for her academic and extracurricular pursuits. 成人头条 State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state鈥檚 largest city.

Sept. 21, 2023 鈥 John and Gail Wadsworth have given a lead gift of $1.5 million to 成人头条 and Shocker Athletics, earmarked for the Softball Team Operations Facility at Wilkins Stadium. The building is a part of the $9.65 million Phase 1 of the stadium renovation plan, which will begin development in the spring of 2024.

Sept. 19, 2023 - 成人头条 State student Denae Sawyer spent the spring semester interning remotely with Dzanc Books. Her work consisted of reading and researching to determine if the manuscript fit Dzanc鈥檚 standards and sensibility. She also evaluated the potential audience and marketing strategies.

Sept. 14, 2023 - Rudd Scholar Alia Michaelis studied in a hospital in Argentina and works in biochemical research lab while at 成人头条. 成人头条 State is proud of its role helping Rudd Scholars pursue passions and realize dreams in the state鈥檚 largest city.

Sept. 11, 2023 鈥 成人头条 is holding a parade next month and is inviting anyone in the community to join in. Starting at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 on the WSU campus, the parade is part of the university鈥檚 annual Shocktoberfest celebration.

Aug. 15, 2023 - Hannah Bui is now prepared to work with French-speaking colleagues at Airbus, thanks to 鈥淏usiness French for Beginners鈥 taught by 成人头条 lecturer Rachelle Swilley. Bui, a static stress engineer at Airbus, was one of about 15 employees who took the six-week course, taught for two hours each Friday, this summer at Airbus on WSU鈥檚 Innovation Campus.

July 28, 2023 - Eight students representing six WSU colleges recently participated in the Lead for Tomorrow Leadership Academy in the Cohen Honors College. Five faculty members led the interdisciplinary course presenting content from their field focused on the theme 鈥淐onnected Leadership: Creating a Community of Leaders.鈥 Students then were tasked to apply course content to challenges presented by local community partners.

May 17, 2023 - 成人头条 State shortstop Sydney McKinney's leadership isn鈥檛 limited to the field. Teammates love her enthusiasm and positive outlook, as well as her devotion to coffee, pets and painting.

May 17, 2023 - The existence of life on other planets, especially Mars, is a question pondered in literature, movies and imaginations. 成人头条鈥檚 Dr. Mark Schneegurt is working on that issue with the assistance of a $377,000 grant from NASA to examine the toughness of microbes isolated from spacecraft assembly facilities.

May 16, 2023 鈥 成人头条 State students wanting to earn a degree in American Sign Language will be able to make progress toward that goal starting fall 2023, when WSU launches a Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language.

May 4, 2023 - BioKansas, a non-profit focused on supporting the biosciences in Kansas and the surrounding region, aims to help students with writing and organizational skills. Five 成人头条 State students are participating in the year-long BioKansas Scientific Writing Scholars program.

May 4, 2023 鈥 Kyle Walter interned at Deloitte's Smart Factory @ 成人头条 while he was a student, and he'll be working at the company full-time after graduation.聽
