April 20, 2023 - 成人头条 State鈥檚 Media Resources Center will live-stream the Plains Regional Regatta for the third year, using MRC staff and students for all aspects of the production. It takes place Sunday on the Arkansas River in downtown 成人头条.

March 16, 2023 - Kyan Caudillo is a biology major at 成人头条 and minoring chemistry. His experience working at WSU鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory will help him as he studies and prepares to work in the medical field.

Feb. 24, 2023 - The Dockum Drug Store sit-in of 1958 attracted new attention in 2021 during Black History Month, in part thanks to NBC鈥檚 鈥淭oday鈥 and 成人头条 native Sheinelle Jones. Several University of 成人头条 students participated in the sit-in, which is increasingly recognized as a landmark event in the Civil Rights Movement. NBC鈥檚 鈥淭oday鈥 featured the events in a 2021 broadcast.

Dec. 12, 2022 鈥 Just in time for the surge of respiratory illnesses flooding the state, 成人头条鈥檚 Molecular Diagnostics Lab has announced it will extend free RSV, influenza and COVID (RIC) testing through March 31, 2023.

Oct. 14, 2022 - Savannah Paschal, a senior Spanish education major at 成人头条 State, wrote a proposal that helped Alce su voz earn a $75,000 Building Power and Equity Partnership grant from the Kansas Health Foundation. The grant will support civic engagement and the group鈥檚 work toward health equity for Spanish speakers and speakers of indigenous languages in Kansas.

Aug. 26, 2022 鈥 成人头条 State鈥檚 Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentations program (NSF MRI) for a 500 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer.

April 26, 2022 鈥 The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 成人头条 is helping Butler Community College students interested in furthering their business education with $40,000 in scholarships. These scholarships will help amplify and activate the coordinated 鈥2+2鈥 program between the two schools where Butler students can receive their associates degree and pursue a business degree at WSU.

Recovery Connect

March 24, 2022 鈥 A new initiative by 成人头条 State鈥檚 Public Policy Management Center and Sedgwick County is helping connect community members to resources that could help with economic recovery efforts. Recovery Connect focuses on helping people, small businesses and non-profits find existing resources in the community.

March 24, 2022 鈥 Around 12-15 成人头条 State students are volunteering for the practices and events surrounding the NCAA women's basketball Sweet 16 and Elite Eight games. Their responsibilities range from organizing practice schedules to decorating locker rooms with NCAA and school logos to working with media members on credentialing and seating. Some will run statistics. For those planning on a career in athletics, the applied learning experience adds to their resume and gives them experience working a nationally recognized event with large crowds and a television audience.
