Advising Services

The LASAC provides extensive advising services, opportunities, resources, and program-specific expertise for pre-med students.

禄 Academic Planning: A pre-med advisor can help you develop a customized academic plan that includes required prerequisites, degree requirements, and information on when and how to apply to the program(s) of your choice.

禄 Opportunities and Experiences: Admission to professional programs is highly competitive. It takes more than good grades and test scores to stand out. Professional programs expect candidates to develop profession-specific knowledge and to spend time cultivating skills and experiences in a broad range of areas. We are dedicated to helping you build these skills and experiences by connecting you to a wide variety of opportunities that include:

  • Shadowing
  • Volunteer experiences
  • Undergraduate Research
  • Medical-related work opportunities
  • Special Programs and events hosted by professional schools

禄 Application Preparation: A pre-med advisor can provide step-by-step guidance throughout the application process. We can help you develop an application strategy to ensure that you are emphasizing your strengths and submitting the most competitive application possible. We provide:

  • Email reminders and assistance on application timeline
  • Comprehensive application review (AMCAS, AACOMAS, AADSAS, PharmCAS, VMCAS,
    TMDSAS, etc.)
  • Personal Statement Review
