Catching Up with Contemporary Art History with Dr. Brittany Lockard: Learn about a diverse group of contemporary artists working in a wide variety of media, and then workshop ideas for incorporating them into your classroom! Collage/Inkjet Photo Transfer with Kendra Cremin: Participants will explore collage with a technique to transfer a photograph or graphic, printed with an inkjet printer onto other surfaces. Eco Printing and the Honorable Harvest with Dr. Lori Santos: Learn ways to engage in respect and reciprocity with the environment. Create an eco-print with natural pigments and make a nature journaling zine. Location: McKnight Art Center North, Room 118. Limit: 12 participants. Figure Drawing - Live Model with Adelia Wise: Join us for a life drawing lesson focusing on mark making techniques and blocking the form. We will use charcoal and charcoal accessories on newsprint paper, drawing from observation from our live model. Location: McKnight Art Center, Room 213. Image Transfers on Clay Forms with Megan Messer: During this workshop, participants will learn how to use underglazes to create image transfers on newspaper and then onto various clay forms. Lumen Printing with Jennifer Ray: Learn the simple process of printing on silver gelatin photo paper without a darkroom. Participants will then learn how to fix and wash the prints, and scan and alter them digitally. Participants are encouraged to bring large photo negatives or small objects. Bring a flash drive for digital files if desired. In case of clouds/rain: darkroom photograms. Location: McKnight Art Center, Rooms 107/108. Making and Working with Paper Clay with Megan Messer: During this workshop, participants will learn how they can create paper clay from their current clay bodies. Walking through the steps of what tools they will need, how to formulate the paper clay, and creating delicate forms. Location: Henrion Hall, Room 106. Limit: 12 participants. Monotype/Monoprint and Paper Lithography with Marco Hernandez: Workshop participants will be introduced to the Monotype/Monoprint and Paper Lithography printmaking processes to create original prints. Paper Making with Brookelle Peterson: Learn the basics of making with paper. Participants will learn how to make paper pulp and manipulate paper pulp utilizing color, texture, and basic molds.
