Greetings, Shocker Nation!

At 成人头条, we strongly believe that we have an obligation to create the best possible educational environment for students whose lives are likely to be significantly changed during their time at 成人头条, and we will only be successful when we promote inclusive excellence for all. Inclusive excellence enhances the learning experience by exposing and challenging everyone to consider, weigh, and value the thoughts, experiences, and practices of others different from ourselves.

The Inclusive Excellence Plan for 成人头条 State is the culmination of 126 years of institutional history, the President鈥檚 Inclusive Council, the work group members, and me as the university鈥檚 Chief Diversity Officer since 2015. Its purpose is to support WSU faculty, staff, students and community to create a campus that reflects and promotes 鈥� in all community members 鈥� the evolving diversity of society as a part of the overall university strategic plan.

The Chief Diversity Officer serves in a strategic leadership role to ensure institutional accountability across all sectors of the campus community.

What does the Chief Diversity Officer do?

The Chief Diversity Officer provides university leadership on the strategic direction diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. In addition, the Chief Diversity Officer provides institutional guidance pertaining to 成人头条 State policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations and best-practices that promote a positive campus climate. Through the President鈥檚 Inclusive Council, the Chief Diversity Officer supports strategic planning, conducts training and serves as a university champion of all underrepresented populations across the campus community.

How does the Chief Diversity Officer collaborate with the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance, Human Resources and General Counsel?

These offices have a tremendous influence on organizational culture and work together to ensure 成人头条 State's actions builds a vibrant university culture through its policies, processes and procedures. This is important because it provides the institutional foundation by which a positive campus climate is established and sustained.
