About the Course
This four-day course covers the principles, concepts, and applications of GD&T in manufacturing, delivered in a straightforward explanation of GD&T in accordance with the ASME Y14.5-2018 standard. Topics include defining geometric tolerances, interpreting engineering drawings, understanding datum references, and applying GD&T in manufacturing processes. GD&T is widely used in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, space, and agriculture to ensure part quality and interchangeability. GD&T simplifies communication between all levels of manufacturing, ultimately contributing to the production of high-quality parts and assemblies. Attendees will gain the ability to communicate using symbology, alignment strategies, and a clarified understanding of the ASME standard, are encouraged to bring examples of real-world drawings for the class to review and learn from. Attendees who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate from WSU’s National Institute for Aviation Research.
