The Office of Diversity and Inclusion wants to ensure that 成人头条 is a safe space for students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning (LGBTQ+) and allies. We work hard to further the University's mission and values by advocating for education, resources and awareness of LGBTQ+ issues on campus. Below is a list of on-campus resources for LGBTQ+ faculty, staff, students and allies.

Ablah Library

The Ablah Library provides in-person and electronic resources and services designed to meet your research needs. This library serves as the main library facility for 成人头条 and has a guide to selected resources relating to LGBTQ+ issues.

Accessible Restrooms

Single-occupancy restrooms are facilities that can be used by all gender identities and expressions. These restrooms can benefit many different people including those assisting persons requiring an attendant, parents with differently gendered children, transgender and gender nonconforming persons. In particular, single-occupancy restrooms are a way to provide a safer space for trans and gender nonconforming students, faculty, staff and community members of 成人头条. Additionally, these restrooms may be handicap-accessible and equipped with baby changing stations. There are also multiple lactation rooms available to the public, in which a lactating mother can utilize in private.

Campus Recreation

With a diverse line-up of fitness, recreation and leisure activities, Campus Recreation aspires to be the best part of your Shocker day! Gender-neutral showers are available to be utilized after a day's worth of exercising. In addition, there are various amenities available where students can store their belongings.

CARE Team

The CARE Team provides a proactive and supportive multidisciplinary team approach to prevention, assessment and intervention for situations that may interfere with students or employees functioning to their full potential. Concerns can be submitted online and can be submitted anonymously.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Counseling and Psychological Services provides quality mental health services to enrolled students, faculty and staff and presents programs and training on topics promoting personal growth and optimal wellbeing. Services are by appointment, low cost and confidential. CAPS is located at the Student Wellness Center inside the Steve Clark YMCA and can be reached via phone at (316) 978-4SWC (4792).

The Office of Civil Rights, Title IX & ADA Compliance (CTAC) is committed to preventing and eliminating discrimination or harassment based on race color, national origin, pregnancy, sex age, disability, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, political affiliation or political philosophy. The office is located on the second floor of Lindquist Hall.

Title IX

Title IX is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in federal funded education programs and activities. This includes, and is not limited to admissions, financial aid, academic advising, housing, athletics, recreational services, college residential life programs, health services, counseling and psychological services, Office of the Registrar, classroom assignments, grading and discipline.

Office of Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid provides numerous options for assistance in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and work opportunities to qualified students. 成人头条 State awards more than $100 million annually in aid to more than 70 percent of the student body. The office also administers all WSU general scholarships and coordinates the delivery of most academic department and off-campus scholarship funds.

One notable scholarship opportunity is the , which was a fund originally established in 2011 because the donors felt that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning students are often overlooked and want to show that group of students that someone notices and cares about them. They want to encourage those students not to hide.

Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI)

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion aims to cultivate and sustain an inclusive campus. We strive for academic excellence by creating an environment that educates, empowers and mobilizes our students, campus and community. In our community, our members view themselves as ambassadors for fundamental freedoms and respect the differences in others.

The office provides dynamic programs, which range from speakers and film showings to award ceremonies, cultural festivities and LGBTQA programming 鈥 each representing a small piece of the diversity displayed on the WSU campus. The ODI is located on the 2nd floor of the Rhatigan Student Center in suite 208.

Student Health Services

The mission of Student Health Services is to assist students in maintaining a state of optimum physical and mental wellness. The services provide medical treatment for ill or injured students, offer guidance and health education. Student Health Services is located at the Student Wellness Center inside the Steve Clark YMCA and can be reached via phone at (316) 978-4SWC (4792). Individuals can also request Rx refills, view and pay balances and schedule appointments online using the myShockerHealth portal.
