Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

What is SAC?

The Student Activities Council serves as the official student-led program board for 成人头条. We plan and coordinate free events for the entire student body. These events range from social, educational, cultural, and high-impact entertainment experiences. Learn more.

What are the benefits of becoming a member of SAC?
  • Meet artists and entertainers

  • Free SAC Swag

  • Make new friends

  • Expand your campus network

  • Eligible to attend annual NACA Conference

  • Eligible for the Michael R. Madecky Scholarship

How much time should an SAC member expect to commit?
Members can expect to spend about two hours each week supporting SAC. One hour is for the weekly committee meeting and the other hour may include hosting an info table, distributing marketing, or staffing an event.
How are SAC events funded?
Funding for the Student Activities Council is made possible by the Student Services Support Fee which is allocated by the Student Government Association. This fee is collected from every degree-seeking student per credit hour. More about Student Fees.
Do SAC events cost money to attend?
SAC strives to keep our events free to all students. Exceptions include road trips and ticketed events like concerts and/or speakers.
Are SAC events open to the public?

The truth is, it depends. SAC prioritizes WSU students when planning any events. Most events require students to scan their WSU ID for admission or to participate. Many of our ticketed events and entertainers are open to WSU students, faculty/staff, and community. Check out our event listing for information on specific events or contact us via social media or sac@wichita.edu
